Text description of dropCatalog



Purpose

To remove the schema from the recovery catalog.


Caution:

This command deletes all RMAN repository data from the recovery catalog. If you have no backups of the catalog, then all backups of all databases managed by this recovery catalog become unusable.

Example

Deleting the Catalog: Example

This example drops the schema from the recovery catalog (you must enter the command twice to confirm):

RMAN> DROP CATALOG

recovery catalog owner is RMAN
enter DROP CATALOG command again to confirm catalog removal
RMAN> DROP CATALOG
